Is Squidoo Worth The Hassle?

There’s a long answer and a short answer to this question. The short answer, in my opinion, is no. the long answer follows.

First, my experience with Squidoo is less than stellar. I have several lenses, none of which get a lot of traffic. I’ve played around with them, added content, removed content, done some keyword research, written lenses based on my research, and have gotten bubkus in traffic.

Maybe I’m missing something? Maybe I need to buy one of those guides that promise to teach you everything that you need to know about Squidoo and whatnot. I just don’t think that it’s worth the hassle anymore. Maybe at some point in the past it was worth it, but not anymore.

I’d be more inclined to buying a guide or something like that if I could figure out how to update my royalty stats. Right now, my stats are stuck to showing the stats for the month of April 2008, and my royalty earnings are $0.42. That’s 42 cents for the month of April, and nothing else since then. I don’t know if I just haven’t earned anything else or if it just hasn’t updated since then. In either case, how do I trust that they’re going to pay me my money?

So, after a good 3 month trial, I’m prepared to say that Squidoo is just not worth the hassle. I may or may not continue posting content to my existing lenses, or maybe I’ll come up with something that will earn me some royalty money or affiliate commissions or I may not.

I like the concept of Squidoo, I just haven’t seen any money come my way thanks to Squidoo, or traffic diverted to my funnel from Squidoo. What do y’all think?

    I’m just one of dozens of lensmasters who make over $100 per month. In fact, we have lensmasters making over $500 per month on a regular basis, and many who send $700 each month to their favorite charities!

    It takes time and work, and it isn’t a get rich quick scheme. Anyone who tells you that hasn’t used it.
